WHAT WE BELIEVE

Doctrine of God

There is but one God (Deut 6:4) who is the creator (Gen 1:1) of all things both seen and unseen.  (Col 1:16).  Although there is but one God, God is manifested in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.   This is called the “Holy Trinity.”  The terms “trinity” and “persons” are not found in the scriptures, but are found in harmony with them.

Transcendent 
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Acts 17:24-25
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

Eternal 
2 Peter 3:8
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

Hebrews 1:10-13: 10
He also says, "In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 11They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. 12You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed.  But you remain the same, and your years will never end."

Spirit
John 4:24:
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth

God revealed to us (Revelation)
God revealed Himself through general and special revelation. Special revelation is
through the Scriptures (2 Peter 1:20-21) and through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-3).  It is called special revelation because God is revealed to us through miraculous means.   General revelation is how God reveals himself to us through natural means (Romans 1:20; Romans 2:14-15)


Why Did God create?
God created all things by His will (Rev 4:11) and for His Glory (Is 43:7)

Concept of Trinity
Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"  And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

John 14:16-17
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

John 15:26
When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.

Acts 2:33

The Son is Equal to the Father
John 10:30

Spirit is Equal to the Father
Acts 5:3-4
Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God."

Conclusion
In stating that the Son is equal to the Father and that the Spirit is equal to the Father then the Son is equal to the Spirit.

Although the Father, Son and Spirit are equal in majesty glory and power each work in a distinct, but harmonious office. 

An explanation to the offices that each hold will be discussed briefly.

The Father
It can be understood that the Father is the initiator

Is 53:10 - Yet it was the Lord's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

John 6:38 - For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

John 17:4 - I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.

The Son
If all things are out of the Father they are through the Son

Luke 22:42 - Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

1 Cor 8:6 - yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit is best under stood as the one that empowers.

Acts 1:8 - But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Acts 2 17-18 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy
The doctrine of the trinity is a mystery of the faith that we may not understand until the Lord returns.  From the Scriptures we can see that The Father sent the Son (1 John 4:14) and the Holy Spirit was sent in the name of the Son (John 14:26). It may be best to think of it this way.  Things are done by the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit.

Doctrine of Scripture

The Scriptures come to us through the guidance of the Holy Spirit using human hands to reveal the Father to us.  Human hands did not write the Scriptures of their own accord but only through the guidance and will of the Holy Spirit. The scriptures are the utmost authority of faith and practice. 

2 Tim 3:16-17
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Doctrine of Sin

In stating the doctrine of sin one must start at the beginning. Sin did not originate with humankind but rather in the angelic realm with the fall of Lucifer. (Isa 14:12-17)  Sin entered into humanity through the willful choice of Adam to partake of the forbidden fruit. (Gen 3:1-6).  Although it was Eve who was deceived (1 Tim 2:14) their eyes were not open until Adam ate (Gen 3:7). Because of the disobedience of Adam sin entered the world and had passed on to all people and the consequence of that sin is passed on to all people. (Romans 5:12)  Although humanity is conceived in sin (Ps 51:5) each person sins (Romans 3:23) by giving into their own desires (James 1:15). The consequences of sin are separation of God (Is 59:2) and both physical and spiritual death (Gen 2:17; Romans 6:23).   The only thing that can grant the forgiveness is the shedding of blood (Heb 9:22).

Doctrine of Salvation

Because of the fallen state of humanity, humanity was in need of a savior to bridge the gap between humanity and God, between death and life.  Humanity, in its sinful nature could not inherit internal life by any means of their own (Eph 2:8).  Christ stood as both the High Priest (Heb 4”14 - 15) and the perfect sacrifice whose blood was shed (1 Peter 1:18-19).  The sacrifice of Christ was a one time for all time event (Romans 3:25-26). In speaking on the doctrine of salvation there are three words that need to be addressed.  The three words are Regeneration, Justification, and Sanctification.  Regeneration means new beginning. (2 Cor 5:17)  Regeneration is the process of new birth that is required to enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:3, 6, 8)  Regeneration is a process that is lifelong in humanity.  (Romans 7:22-25 Phil 2:12)
Justification is God declaring us righteous not because of the work that we have done but rather the work that Christ has done. (Gal 2:16-21)
Sanctification means to be set apart or to be made holy.  We are only sanctified because of the blood of Christ. (Heb 9:13-14) Sanctification is a twofold process, one we are sanctified by Christ and two we are called to set ourselves apart for God. (1 Peter 1:16)

Doctrine of Humanity

Humans were created in the image of God (Gen 1:27) from the dust of the ground and breathed life into them. (Gen 2:7).  Instating that humanity was made in the image of God does not mean that physically look like God.  We were created sinless (Ecc 7:29), create in our image (Gen 1:28) and freedom of will (Gen 2:16-17).  Because of the fall the image of God had been marred in humanity and the sinless is now conceived in sin (Ps 51:5).  Humanity is not able to save itself and is in need of a Savior. (Romans 5:12-25)

Doctrine of the Church

The Church is the body of Christ with Christ at the head.  (Eph 5:23)  The Churches mission is to go into the world proclaiming the name of Christ, making disciples and baptizing them into the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19).  The body of Christ is not one local church, but all believers who profess Christ as Lord and live as His disciples (Romans 10:9-10, 10:13).  Although all Christ following Church make up the body of Christ each Church is autonomus with Chirst ruling over it.
